Miss Rodeo America 2010

In November 2009, as Lady in Waiting I attended the 2010 Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas to support our lovely 2009 Miss Rodeo Arkansas Micki Musick. I had a blast and I got a little taste of whats in store for me when I go to compete in the fall of 2010. In the short time I was there I got to do so many things!

I attended the Rodeo Royalty Seminar which gave me so many ideas and much needed information about my year to come. I also attended the Ladies-in-Waiting Pizza and Bowling Social. What a great way to meet all the new state queens and have a little fun! We all received our "Official Miss Rodeo" jackets and boy was I proud to get mine, I don't think I took it off all day! This little meet-n-greet taught me that I should really brush up on my bowling skills...sheesh! I'm pretty sure I let Arkansas down because Miss Florida, Heather Hall and Miss Missouri, Erin Watts, to say the least, swept the floor with me!

My favorite part of the entire pageant was definitely the fashion show! It was an amazing production complete with dancing, four outfit changes, and even a cruise around the world! The best part was the contestants modeling their dresses, each dress was gorgeous and unique. Another of my favorite parts of the pageant was of course the speeches! It was very exciting listening to all the contestants talk about what makes their state so special. Miss Mississippi, Kelli Jackson made the crowd laugh when she said "we're the only 12 letter word Kindergartners around the country can spell, M-I- crooked letter- crooked letter-I... The judges must've loved it too because she was crowned the new Miss Rodeo America 2010!!

Another highlight was going shopping at the Cowboy Christmas. Wow I don't think I've ever seen that many vendors in one place, my mom and I actually got lost!! The only thing that would've made it better, would've been a Uhaul to bring everything home in!

I had such a wonderful time in Las Vegas and I can't wait till it's my turn in the spotlight!
Untill next time,

"The Mane Event"

One of my first honors as "Miss Rodeo Arkansas Lady-in-Waiting" was attending the Beyond Boundaries "Mane Event" Fundraiser, which was held at the Peabody Hotel on November 13, 2009. This event was so much fun and it was for a great cause.

There were several other queens there to help out such as, Katie Barger Teen Miss Rodeo Arkansas and also Heather Carnes, Miss Lonoke County Rodeo Queen. We all got to strut our stuff and help out by "modeling" the live auction items. Many of the items were beautiful art pieces made from artist right here in Arkansas. It was really an exceptional night and to top it off they even had two live bands!

I would like to thank Beth Moore for inviting me to help out with such a great cause and I also invite all of you to become a part of such a wonderful program.
